UPSILON PI EPSILON, THE INTERNATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY FOR THE COMPUTING AND INFORMATION DISCIPLINES
Invitation only
You cannot apply to Upsilon Pi Epsilon. Each semester the college counsellors give the chapter the list of students who already meet the academic criteria, and the officers invite those students directly. Exceptions cannot be accommodated.
If you qualify, an invitation arrives by email before the first week of the semester. It contains a personal link, open that link and you can register your place here.
Three steps to become a member
Attend one informational
Required. Your invitation email carries a personal link to RSVP, and checking in at the session itself is what registers you as an inductee.
Attend two events
Workshops and socials both count. Scan the QR code at the door and it records against your account automatically.
Attend the ceremony
Once your requirements are done you choose a virtual or in-person ceremony, and pay the one-time membership fee before it.
What it costs
A one-time fee of $85, due after your requirements are complete and before the ceremony. There are no dues after that. It covers:
- Lifetime UPE membership
- Your membership certificate
- The UPE Key Pin
- Your UPE identification number
- A one-year complimentary student membership of the ACM
Where the $85 goes
- UPE Headquarters, your national membership
- $60
- This chapter, for events and materials
- $25
Sixty dollars of that goes to UPE Headquarters as your national membership fee. The remaining twenty-five stays with this chapter and goes straight back into events and materials for members.
